Leave No Trace

Sans trace 1 }

We are proud to announce that we are proud partners with the nonprofit Leave No Trace Canada, an organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible use of natural areas.

September 13, 2021

The organization's mission is mainly focused on recreational activities in nature (hiking, wilderness camping, etc.), but most of the seven principles apply very well to all natural areas, whatever they may be, which is why we have chosen to support the organization's mission.

Leave No Trace's Seven Principles:

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  • Dispose of Waste Properly
  • Leave What You Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors

This new partnership is accompanied by the implementation of a "Leave No Trace" policy at the cemetery. In the spirit of our green plan and the reduction of the impact of human activities on Mount Royal's nature, we ask all visitors to the cemetery to "pack it in, pack it out", the Leave No Trace mantra, and not to leave any waste behind.

You will therefore see signs like the one above in several locations on the cemetery site, to remind everyone who visits to respect the surrounding nature by avoiding littering.

This will not only allow biodiversity to flourish, but also provide a more pleasant and beautiful place for the humans who visit the site.

We thank you for your collaboration in this important project.
