Reminder: holiday season and flowers in mausoleums

Dear clients, we kindly remind you that only natural flowers are permitted at the foot of a crypt or niche, only on these holidays:

  • Easter
  • Mother's Day
  • Father's Day
  • All Saints Day
  • Christmas Day

These natural flowers are allowed fifteen (15) days before and no later than seven (7) days after the holiday.

The Fabrique staff will staff will remove all flowers, including vases, after this period. This article does not does not apply to the St. Marguerite d'Youville mausoleum, where flowers on the ground are prohibited at all times.

N.B: The Fabrique may remove or order the removal, at the concession holder’s expense, of any object it considers dangerous to public safety or not in compliance with the regulations in force or not respectful of the specific character of the premises or hindering the maintenance and development of the Cemetery. This includes, in particular, any construction, boundary marker, fence, cross, funerary marker, light, step or photograph. At its complete discretion, it may also remove or order the removal of any object that is inappropriate or not respectful of the Christian faith.

We welcome:

Natural flowers that have a plastic membrane inside the pot or a saucer under the pot to avoid water damage.

We ask that you avoid:

Flowers in a plastic or glass bottle with water because of the risk of water damage they represent.

Candles, lanterns, candles or lanterns, except in the following chapels:

  • Sainte-Thérèse
  • Notre-Dame
  • Saint-François
  • Saint-Antoine-de-la-Paix et de l'Amitié
  • Jean-Paul-II (see our regulations, page 20, section 5.8).
