Let us organize a meaningful funeral

At Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, religious funerals can be held at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Résurrection Chapel, a historic 19th-century building with an intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics. Our pastoral team also officiates at Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal and we work with very talented professional musicians to set these important, emotional moments to music.

We also offer a webcasting service for these celebrations (including a recording on a USB key) to allow the attendance of loved ones who are not able to travel to the site.

Personalized and secular ceremonies are also possible at the deceased’s place of burial: on our grounds or in our mausoleums.

Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges offers:

  • A tribute to your loved one, through either a private Mass or a secular ceremony
  • A historic 19th-century chapel
  • A unique space with the solace of nature
  • Coordination of all services (priests, deacons, celebrants, professional musicians, etc.) and equipment (big screen, sound system, register, lectern, photo holder, etc.) to free you from the stress of organizing
  • The option to be accompanied at the place of burial by our pastoral team and a musician or singer

“My brothers and I would like to thank you for all the service you have provided us: chapel, religious ceremony, singing, webcasting. The whole thing was to our complete satisfaction and we are certain that our mother would have been equally grateful.”

Nicole Caouette

Notre-Dame-de-la-Résurrection Chapel

The Notre-Dame-de-la-Résurrection Chapel opened at the end of 1856. It was designed by renowned architect John Ostell. In order to ensure the security of the site, it was originally built to house the chapel on the ground floor with the caretaker’s quarters upstairs.

Though recently renovated, it has retained its original character with high ceilings and incredible acoustics. It inspires reflection among the bereaved. The warm colour of its interior columbarium contributes to this atmosphere.

The chapel also hosts monthly memorial Masses held on the first Saturday of each month. The Masses celebrated there are consecrated.

Funerals & Ceremonies

Arrange a religious or secular funeral on site, accompanied by very talented professional musicians to mark these important and emotional moments.

Traditional Burials

Thanks to its exceptional location on Mount Royal, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery has a large surface area that allows it to offer many plots even today.

Mausoleums : Burial in a crypt or columbarium

Burial in a columbarium allows the insertion of an urn in a niche; burial in a crypt allows the insertion of a coffin in a dedicated space in a mausoleum.

Because we know that your loved ones are not forgotten, we offer several memorial services and items to honor their memory.

Funeral Prearrangements

Funeral prearrangements allow you to plan your final wishes while you are alive, and to ensure that they are respected at the time of your death.

Eco-Friendly Options

Inspired by the nature of Mount Royal, we have developed eco-friendly options to allow people to make their final gesture kind to the planet.
