Funerals, masses, celebrations

Please note that the chapel is currently unavailable for rental for an undetermined period of time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

At Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, it is possible to organize religious funerals in the magnificent Notre-Dame-de-la-Résurrection chapel. Our pastoral team also officiates at Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montréal.

Personalized or secular celebrations are also possible at the burial site, either outside on one of our plots or in one of our mausoleums.

"The music was brilliant yesterday at my father's funeral ceremony. It was the singing pieces that moved us the most of all. I hope he heard them, he who was a music lover.

Thank you."

Martine and family

"My brothers and I want to thank you for the whole service you have offered us: chapel, religious ceremony, songs, webcast. It all unfolded to our complete satisfaction and we are sure that our mother would join us in expressing her thanks."

Nicole Caouette

"We would like to thank you for the way you organized our mother's funeral.

All the employees with whom we dealt with were extremely kind and patient, we think of Mrs. Karolyn Dubé and the people who accompanied the family from the Chapel to the burial. A special thank you to Father Bérubé who captured the essence of Mom and offered us a truly touching personalized mass with the help of musicians who showed exceptional talent; you were right to praise them.

With three months of delay, we can now begin our mourning: the way the funeral was held will put a balm on the particularly difficult circumstances of mom's death.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for coordinating all this; you have shown great understanding, kindness and patience."

The Gingras Family

"We would like to thank you and all those who made the funeral Mass and inhumation such a moving and memorable experience. All family members present were impressed by the consideration and professionalism shown, and felt that this was exactly the service we had hoped for to help us bid farewell to this wonderful lady who means so much to us all.

Again, on behalf of the whole family, please express our thanks to all those whose contribution to this ceremony made it possible."

The Allen family

"Hier, notre mère a été inhumée au Cimetière. J'aimerais vous dire merci pour la grande qualité de l'intervention de M. le diacre, et la gentillesse de M. Roger. Cette petite cérémonie nous a touchés et a mis un baume sur notre coeur."

Marie-France Durocher

"What a performance by the musicians yesterday! I think everyone at my aunt's service was thrilled with their performance. They totally stole the show! And the choice of songs, I think, was good. People really enjoyed it.
A big thank you for warming our hearts and congratulations once again."

La Chapelle

The Notre-Dame-de-la-Résurrection chapel was commissioned at the end of 1856. It was designed by architect John Ostell.
In order to ensure the security of the premises, it was built to house the chapel on the ground floor and the caretaker's accomodation upstairs.

Recently renovated, it has retained its original character, with high ceilings and incredible acoustics. It is a place that inspires meditation to bereaved families. Its indoor columbarium, with its warm colours, contributes to this atmosphere.

The Chapel also hosts monthly memorial Masses, which take place every first Saturday of the month. The Masses celebrated there are consecrated.
